Established in 1925, Trinidad State Junior College was the first community college established in Colorado. With campuses in Trinidad and Alamosa, Trinidad State provides affordable and accessible education to students in eight southern Colorado counties and beyond into New Mexico.
Trinidad State offers traditional Arts and Sciences classes and guaranteed transfer program through a partnership with four-year colleges and universities in Colorado. The college also operates several in-demand Career and Technical Education programs at off-site campus locations, including Diesel Technology, Electrical Line Technician, and Heavy Equipment Technology. Trinidad State is also home to one of the first, and by most accounts, the premier Gunsmithing School in the United States.
The Valley Campus of Trinidad State is located in downtown Alamosa. It is a commuter campus that features friendly staff and small class sizes.
