Inclusive Excellence Champion

Christiana Montanez

Christiana Montanez is a dedicated and enthusiastic student pursuing an associate degree in early childhood education at Lamar Community College.

Through her coursework and participation in extracurricular activities, Christiana has acquired valuable skills in intervention. Education is the cornerstone of her academic journey and she has built a strong foundation by obtaining a certification in Colorado’s “Teacher Cadet” program. This program has allowed her to observe and teach lessons to children of all ages. During her senior year of high school, Christiana taught an ESL class for fifth graders, which gave her the opportunity to create diverse learning opportunities and build confidence.

In addition to her academic pursuits, Christiana is the President of the Christian club on her local campus, “Yahweh Today” and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa. She has hosted ministerial alliances from the surrounding community to give short devotions, plan upcoming social events, and connect with students through social media. These experiences enrich her learning and cultivate skills that foster teamwork and leadership.

In the future, Christiana aims to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Intercultural Studies with a concentration in teaching English as a foreign language in ministry. She plans to use her skills to teach English to non-native speakers and to bring hope and support to the enslaved and underprivileged in urban areas. As a student with a strong desire to assist and uplift others, Christiana is thrilled about the opportunity to make a lasting, positive impact on individuals in academia and beyond.
