Brian is from Parkhill in Denver, CO. He has served as a K-12 teacher & leader in both the Cherry Creek School District and Denver Public School District. He has a Bachelor of Arts in English from Metropolitan State College of Denver. He has a Master of Arts from the University of Denver. Beyond his BA and MA, he earned his Principal License from the University of Denver Morgridge College of Education Educational Leadership & Policy Studies program. During his time at the DU ELPS program, he was awarded the ELPS: Transformational Leadership Award. He has been awarded the IEP, Inc. Educator of the Month Award. He has been featured in Bringing the Margins to the Center of Teacher Education: A Framework for Equitable and Effective Teaching by Dr. Maria Salazar & Jessica Lerner. He has served as a facilitator in the Black Male Initiative Summit, as well as helped coordinate the Changing the Narrative Summit. He currently leads as the Inclusive Pedagogy Instructional Coach for the English Department at the Community College of Aurora. He strives to improve the quality of life of those he serves by unpacking their narrative and activating their voice.
