Participants will explore the use of reflective questions and activities in the adult learning process. Metacognition is a powerful tool to achieve deep learning, clarify cultural and career relevance, and is a key component of High Impact Practices, which lead to equitable results for students who are historically underrepresented in college success measures.
Raine Coke-Clark is Diversity Global Learning lead and teaches Advancing Academic Achievement courses at Pikes Peak Community College. She is passionate about student success and equity.
Nationally recognized for her work in High Impact Practices, Robin Schofield serves on the organizing board for the national association for High Impact Practices, HIPs in the States, and has contributed to numerous national discussions about HIPs, to include a Leading Improvements in Higher Education podcast. She was the keynote at IUPUI’s National Assessment Conference in 2020, where she spoke on High Impact Practices implementation and assessment. Currently, Schofield co-chairs the CCCS High Impact Practices functional group, and is co-lead for a CCCS multi-institutional teaching excellence with equity grant for work in High Impact Practices professional development.
