Are you connecting to all your students? Do all students have success in your college course? According to the Education Trust, “slightly more than half of Black and Latino (51.5%) students earned a degree after six years, compared with nearly 70% of White students. That’s a graduation rate gap of roughly 18 percentage points.” It is essential that college and university professors and instructors create equitable environments for all students who start college, finish it. During this session, we will explore strategies to ensure marginalized and minority students have an equal chance of success as their peers. In meeting students where they are, you will be able to identify strategies to make strong relationships with your students, establish classroom structures to include all students, and learn how to encourage students to be the best they can be.
