Faculty from Front Range Community College, after our work with the Center for Urban Education through the system-wide grant from a few years ago, put together a professional development experience that would help spread equity-minded practices throughout our instructional personnel. In this session, you will hear about the format, objectives, and activities involved in the experience, called the Equity Academy for Instruction, as well as a bit about particular challenges encountered in the undertaking.
Kathy Gamble is the director of the Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) Program at the Boulder County Campus of Front Range Community College and has been co-facilitating the Equity Academy for the past two semesters.
Catlyn Keenan teaches Philosophy, Religious Studies, and Women’s Studies at FRCC’s Boulder County Campus and online and has been co-facilitating the Equity Academy for the past two semesters.
Joe Brenkert teaches Math at FRCC’s Westminster Campus and online and has been co-facilitating the Equity Academy for the past three semesters.
